Chapter 01

Where a quick wash stops

A drive-through wash moves loose dirt. It leaves the bonded kind behind: tree sap, tar from the road, bug residue and the film that settles on paint over a year of Costa Mesa commutes. You can feel it by running a hand across a clean-looking hood.

The interior has the same problem on a smaller scale. Crumbs hide in seat seams and vents, and cloth and carpet hold what a vacuum cannot reach. A real detail goes after both sides of the car, surface by surface.

That is also why a detail is the first coat on anything we protect. Ceramic coating and paint protection film both go onto paint that has already been washed, decontaminated and inspected.

Two-bucket wash, clay bar, then the finish

Every exterior detail follows the same order: a full exterior surface inspection, a two-bucket hand wash, then a clay bar to pull the contamination out of the paint. After that comes the finish you choose, either a paint sealant or an upgrade to an entry-level ceramic coating, which is better than sealant.

Inside, we vacuum floors and trunk, wipe the mats, work through the console, cup holders, vents and door panels, and treat the dash with UV protectant. On the Custom package, carpets and cloth seats get steam extraction and the leather is deep cleaned and conditioned.

Paint correction is part of how we work. The ceramic coating packages start with a one-step correction, and one customer, Tom Hunter, brought us a 2018 Suburban with oxidized paint. In his review he said Dylan "never tried to upsell me on anything, which I appreciated."

Chapter 03

Choosing between Deluxe and Custom

Platinum Deluxe is the complete interior and exterior detail. Platinum Custom is everything in Deluxe plus deeper work on leather, trim and paint. If the car is headed to a lease return or a sale, or the paint needs more than a sealant, Custom adds the polish and the leather work.

Hand wash of the wheels and tires, paint decontamination, clay bar, trim dressing, no-sling tire dressing and a paint sealant, with a swirl-free single-stage polish and exterior trim protectant. Turnaround is 2 hours.

Platinum Interior Detail

Floors, trunk, mats, seats, console, vents, dash, door panels, glass and headliner, with leather deep cleaned and conditioned, then steam hot water extraction on carpets and cloth seats. It removes allergens and deep stains.
